Order and Chaos Books

Book 1: Raining Embers

Palmer Tash always follows the path of least resistance. He has an unusual Raining Embersdisability involving his hearing. But in theocratic Latysia, being different isn’t a good thing, so he conceals his problem.

Brier Chastain’s malady is even more debilitating, and she often must take to her bed for long periods. Her days are spent in meaningless pursuits as she awaits an arranged marriage.

When Palmer and Brier are kidnapped on the same night, they meet and discover that their so-called disabilities are actually budding powers. They are the incarnations of Order and Chaos. With their country on the brink of war, the two must step into their predestined roles and learn to take control of their own destinies.

Book 2: Graven Idols

Once Palmer Tash and Brier Chastain found out they were the incarnations of Order and

Graven

Chaos, their lives were turned upside down. Living in a battle-scarred area, they begin to feel that their blessings are more like curses.

Reports of cults taking over the countryside begin to filter into their starving city. But Brier is slowly losing her mind, and Palmer’s abilities are becoming increasingly erratic. The pair must work together to maintain harmony, or their out-of-balance powers could destroy the world.

Book 3: Shattered Tempests

Shattered-Tempests-HiRes

Brier Chastain’s powers have already destroyed two cities. With every use, she finds it a little harder to keep them from overpowering her. Palmer, her cosmic counterbalance, is growing weaker, and she has no one else to help.

Plagued with half-formed visions and other useless abilities, Palmer Tash only wants to be normal. He prefers suppressing his powers to using them, but with Brier struggling, he no longer has a choice. Unfortunately, with the only man able to train him dying, Palmer’s chance to strengthen his abilities may be gone.

With their allies falling, a monstrous army approaching, and prophesies of a gods’ war circling, Palmer and Brier must work out their power problems. If they can’t, they may end up destroying themselves before anyone else has the chance.
